C++ Software Engineer (HFT Market Data)

Location: NYC, hybrid with at least 4 days onsite per week, Monday–Thursday. The role is a 6-month consulting opportunity that may be extended up to 12 months. U.S. work permits or employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: USD $120,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance C++ systems for a greenfield global market data feed application.
• Build scalable, low-latency components for real-time market data processing and order book management.
• Develop UDP/TCP network connectivity, including multicast.
• Implement and integrate ITCH, PITCH, and OUCH financial market data protocols.
• Design concurrent, thread-safe systems focused on latency, throughput, and reliability.
• Profile, benchmark, and optimize performance-critical network and systems code.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of C++ backend development experience.
• Strong C++ and object-oriented design fundamentals, including familiarity with modern C++17 or C++23 features.
• Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience building performance-sensitive or real-time systems is highly preferred.
• Must work from NYC with at least four onsite days per week and must already have authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
