Quality Assurance Engineer II

Location: Czechia; remote-first from Central and Eastern Europe, with offices available in Bratislava, Brno, and Prague.

Base salary range: 732,000–1,110,000 CZK annually.

What you will do

• Own black-box, API-level, integration, and end-to-end test automation for Data Pipeline services, primarily in the imports domain.
• Build and maintain automated test suites in GitLab CI/CD that gate deployments and detect regressions across components.
• Analyze Python and Go pipeline code to identify testing gaps and design meaningful test cases.
• Define test types, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and failure modes during grooming and design reviews.
• Use telemetry and production incident reproduction to create durable automated regression tests.
• Partner with developers and the existing Data Pipeline QA to improve automation and quality practices.

Requirements

• Experience writing automated integration and API tests in Python, Go, or a similar language.
• Ability to read backend or pipeline code and reason about cross-component risks.
• Experience owning black-box, API, integration, or end-to-end automation in CI.
• Comfort with shift-left testing, grooming, design reviews, and defining test cases before implementation.
• Familiarity with AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or Gemini CLI.
• Ability to work remotely from Czechia or Central and Eastern Europe.

Nice to have

• Backend development exposure or experience with code-based testing workflows.
• ETL or data-pipeline testing experience, including connectors, ingestion, transformations, and target-storage validation.
• Experience testing Kafka, Google Cloud Platform, or BigQuery systems.
• Familiarity with Robot Framework, Playwright, Postman, or similar API testing tools.
