Applied Science Manager, Translation Services (NLP/LLM)

Base salary: $183,800–$248,700 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and multi-year science roadmap for machine translation, image translation, video subtitling, long-form text, and automated quality evaluation.
• Lead scientists and machine learning engineers in designing algorithmic solutions for translating billions of words across 130+ locales.
• Bridge research breakthroughs into production-ready systems operating at hirify.global scale.
• Collaborate with applied scientists, software development engineers, product managers, business partners, customers, and stakeholders.
• Define science and engineering strategy, product features, system architecture, and development best practices.
• Build the team, develop career plans, and balance technical execution with long-term strategy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing scientists or machine learning engineers.
• Knowledge of machine learning, natural language processing, information retrieval, and analytics.
• Strong technical skills and understanding of machine learning approaches, NLP, and LLM techniques.
• Experience optimizing, developing, launching, and maintaining large-scale production systems.
• Ability to oversee software lifecycle activities including design, experimentation, implementation, and testing.

Nice to have

• Experience building machine learning models or algorithms for business applications.
• Experience delivering complex software systems involving deep learning, machine learning, or computer vision to customers.
