Manager, Machine Learning Engineering, Advertiser Experience ML (AI)

Location: United States — Bellevue, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto. The default-together policy expects employees to work in an office 4+ days per week.

Base salary: $195,000–$343,000 annually depending on pay zone, with additional RSU eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead machine learning and software engineers building models, agentic systems, and data pipelines for ad review, fraud detection, recommendations, creative intelligence, and web and app understanding.
• Set technical strategy, own the roadmap, and prioritize work across product and platform teams.
• Scale LLM-powered and agentic ad review while maintaining precision and policy quality.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, Business Integrity, Ranking, Attribution, and Recommendations teams to define metrics and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Stay technically involved in design, launch decisions, and hands-on contributions when needed.
• Hire, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s machine learning industry experience, or equivalent experience with a Master’s or PhD.
• 1+ years of experience leading machine learning engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of machine learning for classification, recommendation, and content understanding.
• Experience building production systems with large language models, including evaluation, iteration, cost, and latency management.
• Technical depth in modeling, data pipelines, inference, team strategy, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience in ads integrity, content moderation, trust and safety, fraud, risk, or abuse detection.
• Experience with ads or marketplace recommendation systems.
• Experience building agentic systems, LLM workflows, or multimodal models across image, video, and text.
• Experience with large-scale web crawling, URL and content understanding, or ML platform infrastructure.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
