Location: 100% on-site in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; substantial domestic travel required.
Salary: $22.50–$26.50 per hour.

What you will do
- Research upcoming legislation and monitor political, regulatory, and life sciences developments.
- Analyze legislation and summarize its potential effects on the company, patients, and business.
- Maintain and expand the use of legislation-tracking software.
- Support government engagement, advocacy, policy agenda development, and relationship-building activities.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and stakeholder gatherings, including travel to company locations and partner meetings across the United States.
- Prepare reports, memoranda, official documents, and other internal and external communications.
Requirements
- Junior or senior undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited program, or a graduate student enrolled in an accredited MPP, MPH, or JD program.
- Interest in government affairs, policy, advocacy, health policy, life sciences, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work primarily in the office for a six-month co-op term and travel domestically.
- Cover letter required with the application.
Nice to have
- Major in natural sciences, economics, public policy, history, pre-law, or political science.
- Prior experience in government affairs, campaigns, or a related field.
