Junior DevOps Engineer

Location: Bath, UK; onsite, 5 days in the office

What you will do

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Write clean, efficient, and documented code, including with AI-assisted development.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on project requirements and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Develop unit tests and participate in integration and system testing.
• Maintain and improve existing software applications, documentation, and technical processes.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in the role or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Familiarity with Git, Agile development, software testing, and development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with eagerness to learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Cloud experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Prior software development internship or project experience.
