TL;DR
Cyber Security Analyst (Cybersecurity): Protecting systems, networks, and data through threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security control development with an accent on cloud security, ISMS compliance, and SOC operations. Focus on investigating security events, embedding secure design across the SDLC, improving detection and response capabilities, and aligning controls with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, MITRE ATT&CK, and NIST frameworks.
Location: Based at the Herald Court office in Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom

What you will do
- Detect, investigate, and respond to security events, alerts, incidents, and emerging threats.
- Identify cyber security risks and control deficiencies, recommend improvements, and track remediation.
- Support cloud infrastructure and services, with security best practices embedded by design, preferably in AWS environments.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate secure design principles and security requirements throughout the SDLC.
- Maintain security policies, technical documentation, the accredited ISMS, and controls aligned with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Develop SOC processes and improve security monitoring, detection, response, resilience, and compliance capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong practical knowledge of cyber security across technology environments, including infrastructure, operating systems, networking, and common security controls.
- Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, security assessments, risk prioritisation, and remediation tracking.
- Experience with EDR, NDR, SIEM, security monitoring, alert investigation, and incident response.
- Knowledge of cloud security, preferably AWS, including IAM, logging, monitoring, and configuration.
- Understanding of application security, secure development practices, DLP, data security, supply-chain risk, WAFs, and secure architecture.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks, threat intelligence, and ITIL principles.
