People Operations Manager (AI Automation)

Location: Sydney office, hybrid; 2–3 days in the office and 2 work-from-home days each week. The role may be performed from anywhere for several weeks per year.

Salary: A$100,000–A$130,000 per year, excluding superannuation, plus equity options.

hirify.global builds software and AI agents for construction, infrastructure, and industrial companies, including data capture, safety, quality, field reporting, fleet management, and no-code integration products.

What you will do

• Own payroll end-to-end across four entities with different cycles and compliance requirements.
• Process starters, leavers, role changes, payroll cut-offs, final pay, and payroll queries.
• Run onboarding and offboarding, including equipment provisioning and recovery, access management, and day-one readiness.
• Coordinate performance cycles, engagement surveys, compensation reviews, and levelling calibrations.
• Maintain HRIS data quality, reporting, policies, and documented People processes.
• Identify recurring manual work and automate it using AI and tools such as Zapier or Make.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of employment compliance in more than one jurisdiction.
• Experience building and documenting scalable processes.
• High attention to detail in payroll and compliance matters.
• Confidence partnering with Finance on reconciliations.
• Clear written communication, sound judgement, and the ability to escalate appropriately.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines without losing accuracy.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-growth technology company or scale-up.
• Hands-on experience with AI or automation tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, or Make.
• Experience with BambooHR, Rippling, Deel, EOR platforms, or similar global HRIS products.
• Exposure to construction, field services, distributed workforces, People systems vendors, statutory leave, or employee relations.
