Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Injection Molding

Location: Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $123,200–$184,800 USD annually

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for injection molding manufacturing operations.
• Design manufacturing processes, production layouts, equipment arrangements, and operating sequences.
• Troubleshoot complex molding, tooling, material, quality, and process issues and lead corrective actions.
• Qualify new and existing molds and support process development, validation, transfers, equivalency qualifications, and scale-up.
• Develop processes supporting statistical process control, process capability, and product quality requirements.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling, Operations, and New Product Introduction teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 5 years, or a PhD with at least 3 years.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering and injection molding operations.
• Ability to ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable regulations and quality requirements.
• Must work onsite five days per week in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, a qualifying degree under 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with injection molding process development, scientific molding, Design of Experiments, process capability analysis, or statistical process control.
• Experience with mold qualification, tooling design, process validation, manufacturing transfers, or capital equipment implementation.
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring engineers, influencing stakeholders, and developing manufacturing technology strategies.
