Manager – External Affairs and Social Performance (Mining)

Location: Brisbane, Australia; full-time office-based role.

What you will do

• Develop and implement group and site external affairs strategies, stakeholder engagement priorities, and annual plans.
• Monitor political, regulatory, socioeconomic, and stakeholder developments and provide analysis and recommendations.
• Prepare stakeholder maps, engagement plans, executive briefings, submissions, presentations, and related materials.
• Build relationships with government, industry bodies, host communities, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders.
• Strengthen practices covering community relations, grievance management, social risk, human rights, and community investment.
• Coordinate the Modern Slavery Statement and support responsible supply chain governance, assurance, reporting, training, and capability development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, communications, sustainability, human rights, business, law, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in external affairs, stakeholder engagement, government relations, social performance, sustainability, or a related field.
• Experience in mining, resources, infrastructure, or another relevant industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of stakeholder management, social performance, reputation risk, regulatory environments, human rights, and responsible mining practices.
• Strong communication, influencing, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex issues across site, corporate, and senior leadership teams.
• Valid working rights in Australia are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
