Product Manager, Payments

What you will do

• Own the product roadmap, strategy, backlog, and lifecycle for Direct Entry, BPAY Payer, BPAY Biller, RTGS, and Chequing Services.
• Assess market trends, competitor offerings, client needs, and product performance to guide positioning and feature development.
• Partner with Product Owners and delivery squads to develop and launch scalable payment products.
• Translate client and stakeholder challenges into product requirements, enhancements, and priorities.
• Monitor service levels, costs, pricing, profitability, compliance, and financial outcomes.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, payment schemes, industry bodies, and internal commercial and operational teams.

Requirements

• At least three years of product management experience in financial services.
• Thorough understanding of electronic payments and experience managing complex product lifecycles.
• Experience with Agile delivery environments and complex product implementations.
• Experience developing business cases, interpreting financial information, and understanding revenue and profitability drivers.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, communication, presentation, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Tertiary qualification in a commercial or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-paced payments product environment.
• Knowledge of payments, banking, enablement products, suppliers, competitors, payment schemes, industry bodies, or external vendors.
• Experience working effectively in a hybrid environment.
