Digital Community Liaison (Dari and Pashto)

Location: Remote within the United States, associated with Des Moines, Iowa; required domestic travel up to 20%.

Pay rate: $28–$34 per hour.

What you will do

• Support the Settle In Facebook page and engage with newcomers through private messages and post comments.
• Respond to user questions using trusted resources, moderation guidelines, and escalation protocols.
• Translate articles, video scripts, and social media content into Dari and Pashto.
• Record live-event audio and video scripts in Dari and Pashto.
• Maintain an FAQ resource in English, Dari, and Pashto and propose new content topics based on user needs.
• Support monitoring and evaluation, partner communication, resource visibility, and other Settle In activities.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English, Dari, and Pashto.
• Strong computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Suite, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Knowledge of Facebook and other social media platforms, strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and high emotional intelligence.
• Experience supporting newcomers’ access to accurate information about life in the United States.

• Experience with refugee resettlement or other immigration pathways.
