Staff Product Engineer, Enterprise AI

Location: Remote in Canada; permanent work authorization in Canada is required. Regular overlap with European business hours is expected.

Salary: $155,000–$185,000 CAD per year in Canada.

What you will do

• Build and ship full-stack features, integrations, and customer-specific customizations across the Thunderbolt codebase.
• Work with technical partners and enterprise customers to understand environments, requirements, and deployment constraints.
• Support pilots, proofs of concept, and early production deployments in partner-hosted and customer-controlled environments.
• Diagnose and fix complex issues across application, infrastructure, identity, integration, and data-access layers.
• Turn recurring customer requests into reusable product capabilities and contribute deployment feedback to roadmap decisions.
• Create documentation, deployment guidance, and runbooks that help partners resolve routine issues independently.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff-level production engineering scope and impact.
• Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, component-based frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Technical customer, partner, systems integrator, forward-deployed, consulting, or implementation engineering experience combined with hands-on coding.
• Experience building or supporting AI-enabled applications such as LLM platforms, RAG systems, agents, enterprise search, or data connectors.
• Understanding of enterprise deployment concerns including authentication, identity providers, access control, self-hosted and hybrid infrastructure, observability, and reliability.
• Applicants must reside in Canada and have permanent Canadian work authorization; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Experience with self-hosted, private cloud, sovereign, or regulated deployment environments.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
• Experience with European enterprise or public-sector customers, data residency, or data sovereignty requirements.
• Experience supporting security reviews, privacy assessments, or enterprise procurement processes.
• Open-source contributions or experience in open, highly collaborative engineering environments.
