Risk Developer (AI)

Location: Chicago, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$225,000 USD per year, plus discretionary bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Build and maintain real-time risk systems for PnL tracking, VaR, exposure calculations, dashboards, analytical tools, and alerting.
• Design responsive front-end interfaces for visualizing and interacting with risk metrics.
• Own deployment, CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure, environment management, observability, and incident response.
• Improve application reliability, performance, availability, and low-latency behavior during market hours.
• Use AI coding assistants and integrate LLM APIs for automation, analysis, and workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with risk developers, quantitative analysts, and market risk analysts to implement financial models in production-ready applications.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience, preferably in finance or proprietary trading.
• Strong Python skills for data processing, backend logic, and model integration.
• DevOps experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux administration, and monitoring or logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants, agentic development workflows, and LLM API integration, including prompt design, tool or function calling, and evaluation.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue; proficiency in SQL and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data structures, APIs, real-time data processing, data visualization, and collaborative software development.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Exposure to quantitative models or collaboration with quantitative analysts.
