Military Writing Expert (AI) - Air and Missile Defense - Denver (AI/national security): Developing high-quality military analyses and training data for generative AI models supporting national security customers with an accent on doctrinal, operational, and strategic writing. Focus on auditing model data, comparing model outputs, improving generative AI workflows, and collaborating with machine learning engineers and product managers.
Location: Onsite in Denver, Colorado, United States
Compensation: $60–80 per hour depending on experience; 6-month contractor position with an opportunity to renew.

is a growing information technology company providing operations management, quality systems, data operations, cybersecurity, and federal IT infrastructure support for the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
What you will do
- Audit and create high-quality datasets based on doctrinal, operational, and strategic military documents.
- Write analyses used to train and evaluate generative AI models for national security customers.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers on model comparisons and prompt-response evaluations.
- Work with operations specialists to improve workflows for generative AI tasks.
- Train and mentor junior AI writing specialists.
- Partner with product managers to provide feedback on AI defense tools.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance required.
- 10+ years as a military officer in intelligence, operations, aviation, or ground combat.
- At least one tour as an O-4 or higher in a General Officer-level command, such as a G-level or J-level intelligence, operations, or plans staff.
- Graduation from a joint or service intermediate-level school, such as Command and General Staff College.
- Experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defense, BMC3, early warning and missile tracking, Counter-UAS, or homeland defense.
- Relevant experience with systems such as PATRIOT, THAAD, GMD, IBCS, SBIRS, or Aegis BMD, plus one of the listed military specialties.
Nice to have
- Secondary occupational specialty as a service planner.
- Multiple O-4 through O-6 tours at joint, combined, combatant, service component, or joint task force commands.
- Preferred military identifiers or qualifications listed for the relevant service specialties.
