Buyer/Planner (Supply Chain)

Location: 8521 S Regency Dr, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA; office-based with occasional work in a manufacturing environment.

What you will do

• Manage material flow from raw-material procurement through finished-goods delivery.
• Solicit supplier bids, evaluate vendors, prepare purchase orders, and maintain purchasing records.
• Use MRP reports to plan, schedule, and release work orders according to capacity, lead times, labor availability, and customer deadlines.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to expedite orders, resolve shortages, and prevent production or delivery delays.
• Review inventory levels and safety-stock parameters to improve turnover and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Analyze production status and capacity utilization, communicate demand changes, and support Sales and Operations Planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, plus at least three years of experience in production control, planning, and/or purchasing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Knowledge of supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, production planning, manufacturing methods, and cost accounting.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, mathematical, communication, and supplier-relationship skills.
• Experience with constraint-based management, demand-driven scheduling, machining concepts, engineering drawings, and continuous improvement methods.
• Effective communication in English by telephone, in person, and in writing; ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• ASCM, APICS, or CPIM certification.
• Experience with CAPS (Capacity Planner) or an equivalent system.
