Russian Cryptologic Language Analyst

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland, United States

Salary: $85,000–$165,000 per year. Additional level-specific ranges include $75,000–$115,000 for Associate, $105,000–$140,000 for Cryptologic Linguist, and $125,000–$165,000 for Senior Cryptologic Linguist.

What you will do

• Scan, sort, and categorize foreign-language written and verbal materials to identify essential information.
• Translate and transcribe complex written and spoken materials between Russian and English.
• Perform quality control on language-processing activities.
• Compile and update operational work aids and databases.
• Draft intelligence reports supporting national security missions.

Requirements

• Two years of relevant experience with a related bachelor’s degree, no experience with a related master’s degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent with six years of relevant experience.
• Full-time experience in cryptologic operations performing language processing in the required language.
• Russian language capability for translation, transcription, and language processing duties.
• English capability sufficient to produce idiomatic, standard American English translations.
• Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Nice to have

• At least two years with translating, transcribing, and gisting as the primary duty.
• Up to one year of reporting as the primary duty and two years of end-product reporting experience.
• Three years of computer network operations experience.
