Business Analyst (Java)

What you will do

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for Java-based warehouse distribution and customer-facing applications.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, system design documents, and user stories.
• Lead cross-functional teams through project initiation, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, operations, international IT colleagues, stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Create test plans, scenarios, scripts, technical documentation, user manuals, and release notes.
• Identify process improvements, emerging technology opportunities, security risks, and issues affecting departmental performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment focused on Java application development.
• Strong knowledge of database concepts and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
• Proficiency in requirements management tools such as Jira and Confluence, plus familiarity with Git, GitLab, Scrum, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills; Linux/Unix and basic scripting knowledge is preferred.

Nice to have

• Business analysis certification such as CBAP or CCBA.
• Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
