AWS Application Security Analyst (AWS)

Location: 5 days onsite in Birmingham, AL; Knoxville, TN; Columbia, SC; or Lafayette, LA

What you will do

• Perform manual and automated application and code security reviews to identify vulnerabilities.
• Conduct threat modeling and security risk assessments for new and existing applications.
• Recommend remediation approaches and communicate findings to developers and technical stakeholders.
• Use SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis tools in application security testing.
• Integrate security controls and testing into CI/CD pipelines and strengthen DevSecOps practices.
• Evaluate security risks in AWS and containerized environments and develop reusable security guidance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in application security and secure software development.
• Experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, manual code reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
• Working knowledge of AWS security, cloud application security, container security, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, or comparable CI/CD platforms.
• Programming or code review experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of network protocols, encryption, authentication, and common application vulnerabilities, plus a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC application security certifications.
