TL;DR
Senior Platform Software Engineer - Core Infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes): Building and operating the AWS foundation, networking, multi-account cell architecture, and EKS platform supporting engineering teams at scale with an accent on infrastructure automation, reliability, security, and cost efficiency. Focus on designing multi-region platform capabilities, developing self-service infrastructure, and solving complex scalability, resilience, compliance, and observability challenges.
Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work model balancing office and remote work.
Base salary: €65,000–€80,000 gross per year; total on-target earnings of €71,500–€88,000 including annual performance bonus.

What you will do
- Design, deploy, and operate AWS infrastructure from edge networking through multi-account cell architecture and EKS.
- Automate provisioning, upgrades, and consistency across the infrastructure estate using infrastructure as code and GitOps.
- Partner with product and feature teams to create self-service platform capabilities.
- Improve reliability, security, compliance, observability, autoscaling, and cost efficiency, including participation in the on-call rotation.
- Design new platform capabilities for greater scale, resilience, and support for emerging AI and agent workloads.
Requirements
- Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Platform, DevOps, Software, or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience with networking, edge, and compute services such as VPC, CloudFront, API Gateway, and EKS.
- Solid Kubernetes experience, ideally with Amazon EKS, plus Terraform or OpenTofu and a GitOps mindset.
- Strong software-engineering habits, operational judgment, and experience prioritizing operational work, automation, requests, and new designs.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Clear communication in English and availability for the Madrid hybrid work model.
Nice to have
- Experience with compliance-driven environments, especially FedRAMP or FIPS.
- Experience building self-service internal developer platforms.
- Experience with cell-based or multi-region architectures at scale.
