Manager, IT Application Development - Transportation

Location: Full-time onsite employment at the hirify.global Store Support Center, 510 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320. Relocation support is available for candidates outside the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Projected salary range: $123,000–$153,500 per year, plus a 20% bonus opportunity and other incentives.

What you will do

• Own intake, prioritization, planning, and delivery of application development initiatives from requirements through deployment.
• Lead internal teams, consultants, systems integrators, and hardware and software vendors.
• Provide technical direction for application development, integrations, deployments, and store technology rollouts.
• Design scalable, reliable, cost-effective enterprise solutions that support future growth and critical store operations.
• Manage risks, dependencies, budgets, forecasts, vendor contracts, change orders, SLAs, and financial accountability.
• Coach team members, improve delivery quality and operational stability, and travel at least 10% for project events, conferences, and onsite meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant IT experience, or 10+ years of equivalent progressive experience.
• Experience managing internal teams and external development vendors, including systems integrators, software vendors, and hardware providers.
• Strong project, delivery, communication, and stakeholder management skills across complex initiatives.
• Experience with retail hardware and services procurement, contract negotiation, budgets, forecasts, and vendor financial controls.
• Familiarity with business-critical, highly integrated systems and enterprise application delivery.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management.
• Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models and SDLC best practices.
• Working knowledge of Sterling EDI Integration and Service-Oriented Architecture integration.
• Experience with transportation fleet, yard management, rating services, inbound freight, outbound carrier delivery, and route management systems.
