Backend Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build foundational platform infrastructure, shared abstractions, internal tooling, and sensible defaults that accelerate product teams.
• Design and maintain scalable production systems for enterprise reliability requirements.
• Develop infrastructure for high-throughput LLM workloads, real-time usage, and unreliable providers.
• Own architecture, developer experience, APIs, infrastructure, and data flows end to end.
• Build authentication, observability, and durable job orchestration systems that remain reliable as the company grows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience with exposure to platform or infrastructure work.
• Strong system design skills and experience taking systems from MVP to production scale.
• Experience with distributed systems, PostgreSQL database scaling, queueing, and large-scale batch processing.
• Ability to benchmark and tune systems under real load and make pragmatic technical trade-offs.
• Experience or familiarity with LLM infrastructure at scale.
• Ability to take ownership, mentor others, and solve problems proactively.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kotlin and the Java ecosystem.
• Experience with Temporal, PortKey, or specialized LLM harnesses.
