Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City office, on-site 4 days per week

Salary: $190,000–$215,000 per year, plus equity and a $38,000–$64,500 bonus

What you will do

• Build and ship full-stack AI systems and agentic workflows for U.S. healthcare processes.
• Design data pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and production-grade systems for LLMs and vision models.
• Develop resilient infrastructure for model deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and scaling.
• Research and select the best-fit tools and models for each workflow.
• Translate ML research into production-ready systems and integrate models with backend, frontend, data pipelines, and product workflows.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, backend engineers, and cross-functional teams on interfaces, tradeoffs, and delivery.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in backend and full-stack engineering.
• Strong understanding of system design, backend engineering, and observability infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and deploying AI systems into production.
• Experience building, testing, deploying, scaling, and monitoring LLM-centered software architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on-site in the New York City office 4 days per week.
