Automation & Controls Engineering Associate (Winter 2027) (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States. The role requires hands-on work in a lab or factory environment. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status is required.

Base salary: $1,925 per week.

What you will do

• Support the design, build, integration, and commissioning of automated test systems for spacecraft hardware and ground-support equipment.
• Own electrical controls hardware, including control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, relays, power distribution, data acquisition systems, and safety interlocks.
• Integrate automated systems with thermal and thermal-vacuum chambers, vibration systems, pumps, valves, and programmable controllers.
• Collaborate with environmental test, mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and software teams.
• Develop safe, reliable, and repeatable solutions for spacecraft environmental testing.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience through coursework, projects, research, internships, clubs, or personal work with electrical circuits, instrumentation, sensors, or data acquisition.
• Experience with embedded systems, PLCs, industrial automation, control systems, state machines, or hardware/software integration.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Clear written communication and effective collaboration in a cross-functional, hands-on engineering team.
• Willingness to work in a lab or factory environment and perform hands-on hardware tasks; eligible U.S. work status is required.
