Focus on applying security controls, remediating vulnerabilities, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting continuous monitoring and accreditation activities.

Location: San Diego, California, United States. US citizenship is required due to government requirements.

hirify.global is recruiting for a growing federal contractor supporting government cybersecurity operations.

What you will do

  • Perform system hardening across Windows and Linux environments in accordance with DoD requirements and industry best practices.
  • Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on servers, workstations, and networked systems.
  • Conduct ACAS vulnerability assessments, analyze scan results, and identify remediation actions.
  • Apply vendor patches, system updates, configuration changes, and other corrective actions to remediate security findings.
  • Maintain security configuration and remediation documentation while tracking and reporting vulnerability status.
  • Support inspections, audits, assessments, accreditation activities, continuous monitoring, and risk management in collaboration with system administrators, network engineers, and security teams.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience; four additional years of cybersecurity experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Current IAT Level II baseline certification required, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CCNA Security, or CND.
  • At least three years of full-time professional experience in system hardening and cybersecurity engineering.
  • Experience with STIG implementation, ACAS vulnerability assessments, vulnerability remediation, security compliance policies, and vendor security patches.
  • Experience hardening and securing both Linux and Windows operating systems.
