Senior AI Engineer

What you will do

• Build and operate production AI agents and agentic workflows covering orchestration, tool use, data connections, deterministic logic, state, and permissions.
• Work directly with design customers, map real workflows, and build integrations against live data.
• Develop evaluation datasets, pre-launch thresholds, regression suites, and post-launch monitoring.
• Build human-review tooling, exception queues, escalation paths, and traceability for auditable agent decisions.
• Run shadow-mode comparisons against existing customer processes and resolve discrepancies before launch.
• Turn customer-specific implementations into reusable agents, integrations, and playbooks while handling incidents end to end.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating at least one AI agent or agentic workflow.
• Strong engineering judgment across models, orchestration, APIs, data, integrations, permissions, observability, and evaluations.
• Experience working directly with customers or end users and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to decompose complex workflows into deterministic steps, agentic decisions, human judgment, and exception paths.
• Experience shipping in zero-to-one environments and owning production outcomes.
• Ability to work remotely in the United States, with occasional in-office visits as needed.

• Experience in a regulated domain such as payroll, payments, tax, benefits, or labor compliance.
