Data Engineer Lead

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable data ingestion and transformation solutions using SQL and dbt.
• Own end-to-end ELT pipelines with dbt and Athena, processing data from multiple sources.
• Design data quality frameworks with validation rules, testing strategies, and monitoring.
• Apply Medallion Architecture principles across Bronze, Silver, and Gold data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize Athena SQL queries, dbt models, and data validation and ingestion frameworks, including Streamlit-based UI components when needed.
• Provide technical leadership, identify delivery risks and data quality issues, and drive documentation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong senior-level or lead mindset.
• Strong hands-on SQL experience.
• Strong hands-on dbt experience.
• Experience building ELT pipelines and data transformation solutions.
• Experience with AWS Athena and complex SQL queries.
• Understanding of data modeling and large-scale data processing; AWS services and data platforms are a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with Glue, S3, EMR, Lambda, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
