Staff Engineer - Data Analyst (dbt)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain production-grade data models and complex SQL transformations.
• Build dbt models using incremental models, materializations, snapshots, seeds, sources, packages, macros, and Jinja.
• Implement data tests, quality frameworks, documentation, and lineage.
• Work with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for implementation, refactoring, testing, code review, and developer workflow automation.
• Establish practical standards for prompting, code verification, security, intellectual property protection, and AI-authored changes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with dbt.
• Strong SQL skills and experience developing complex data transformations.
• Strong knowledge of dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud, including models, materializations, tests, snapshots, sources, seeds, packages, documentation, and lineage.
• Strong experience with at least one cloud data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Required AI skills include daily fluent use of Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot, understanding of LLM fundamentals, and experience with AI-enabled developer workflows and agentic tooling.
