Senior Motion Designer (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, IL, with in-person office attendance three days per week

Salary: $90,000–$135,000 per year, plus a discretionary performance bonus of 8–12% of base salary

What you will do

• Translate creative briefs and brand strategies into style frames, storyboards, motion graphics, and finished animations.
• Create visual executions for integrated digital, social, video, and brand marketing campaigns.
• Build motion systems using typography, transitions, visual effects, and established creative direction.
• Own asset preparation, animation, rendering, optimization, and delivery across formats and aspect ratios.
• Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and strategists to maintain consistent, on-brand campaigns.
• Incorporate generative AI tools and stay current with emerging design tools and trends.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in After Effects, including expressions, scripting, and complex compositing workflows.
• Expert-level Photoshop and Illustrator skills, with strong motion design, image manipulation, vector design, and visual storytelling abilities.
• Proficiency in Cinema 4D or Blender for 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, virtual cameras, and compositing 3D renders into 2D motion pieces.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, typography, layout, color, composition, branding, transitions, and visual effects.
• 8+ years of professional visual design experience in an agency or in-house creative team, supported by a strong portfolio or reel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Figma, design systems, collaborative workflows, and UI-based creative.
• Experience with generative AI and AI animation or video tools.
• Working knowledge of animated HTML5 display ads using Google Web Designer or similar software.
