TL;DR
Data Engineer (Databricks): Building and governing batch and streaming data pipelines, semantic models, and transformations for scalable machine learning and data products with an accent on data contracts, quality rules, and reusable engineering patterns. Focus on defining data product boundaries, maintaining data SLOs, mentoring domain teams, and improving platform templates and tooling.
Location: Remote in Latin America; position listed for Mexico

What you will do
- Co-develop batch and streaming pipelines, semantic models, and transformations on Databricks using Python and Spark.
- Define and maintain data contracts, data quality rules, and data SLOs for each data product.
- Guide domain teams on data modeling and define clear data product and domain boundaries.
- Train, mentor, and pair with domain engineers and analysts on data product ownership and engineering practices.
- Capture domain feedback and improve platform templates, tooling, and reusable engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Experience in data engineering, including building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, and Spark for batch and streaming workloads.
- Familiarity with a BI visualization tool such as Looker or Tableau.
- Strong attention to detail, data governance instincts, and a reuse-first engineering mindset.
Nice to have
- Feature Store certification at Fundamentals or Expert level.
- Experience working with financial data.
- Experience developing AI agents or agentic infrastructure, including agent orchestration or MCP.
