TL;DR
Quality Technical Analyst (Aerospace): Investigating manufacturing defects and improving aircraft component quality through root cause analysis, corrective actions, PFMEAs, control plans, and First Article Inspections with an accent on composite aerostructures and production compliance. Focus on correlating manufacturing processes with engineering and planning requirements, analyzing process capability and trends, and ensuring quality across products, tools, and processes.

Location: Kinston, North Carolina, United States; 100% onsite. Must be willing to work second shift or a 12-hour weekend schedule from Friday through Sunday. The role requires current US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available for US positions unless specified.

What you will do

  • Perform root cause analyses and support corrective actions to reduce or eliminate manufacturing nonconformances.
  • Investigate defects from the shop floor through the engineering laboratory using quality analysis tools.
  • Correlate manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and operational planning requirements to identify and resolve gaps.
  • Develop PFMEAs, control plans, quality systems, operating procedures, and process improvement plans.
  • Create and finalize First Article Inspection reports and data collections, including customer presentations in Net-Inspect.
  • Perform design reviews, configuration audits, process capability analyses, trend analyses, and risk assessments while coordinating with suppliers, customers, employees, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • At least 4–6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Aerospace or automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Willingness to work second shift or a 12-hour weekend schedule from Friday through Sunday is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
