EHS Manager (MedTech)

Location: Nijmegen, Netherlands; onsite role with availability for first, second, and third shifts, 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays

Base pay: €68,600–€119,600 per year

What you will do

• Lead the site’s environmental, health, and safety programs and ensure compliance with local, federal, corporate, and J&J standards.
• Manage EHS projects covering safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, environmental risks, and appropriate control measures.
• Lead internal and external audits, inspections, regulatory interactions, and process improvements.
• Coordinate occupational health and wellness services with external partners.
• Lead the Emergency Response Team as primary incident commander and support business continuity planning.
• Own EHS scorecards, hazardous waste management, regulatory records, and site improvement recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or industrial engineering preferred.
• Three to five years of experience leading EHS activities in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with EHS regulations, internal and external audits, regulatory agencies, budget management, and project management.
• At least five years of team leadership or direct people management experience is highly preferred; two to three years of supervisory experience is desired.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Dutch, with strong presentation skills in both languages.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 knowledge; ISO 14001 lead auditor experience. Understanding of AI concepts, responsible AI practices, and effective prompting is also required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in environmental science.
• Professional Engineer designation.
• Certified Safety Professional or related certification.
