Focus on developing SSP, POA&M, and ATO artifacts, validating security controls, implementing JSIG and NIST requirements, and tracking corrective actions to closure.
Location: Onsite in Beavercreek, Ohio, United States; travel required 15%–35%; standard working hours.

What you will do
- Serve as an Information Systems Security Officer supporting information systems and the Digital Infrastructure Network program.
- Perform compliance audits, vulnerability assessments, and system and network security evaluations.
- Support Assessment & Authorization activities and obtain and maintain Authorizations to Operate for DoD medical systems.
- Develop and maintain RMF documentation, including System Security Plans, security checklists, Privacy Impact Assessments, ATO artifacts, and POA&Ms.
- Implement and tailor government security requirements, including JSIG, NISPOM, SP 800-171, SP 800-53, and RMF.
- Review audits, validate security controls, recommend safeguards, and monitor corrective actions through closure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least four years of ISSO experience.
- Experience with DOD 8500.01, RMF requirements, RMF packages, and JSIG packages.
- Experience developing POA&Ms and applying independent verification and validation techniques.
- Current IAM Level I certification, such as CAP or Security+ CE, or a comparable DoD 8570.01-M certification.
- Must hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or have completed a background investigation within the last six months, and must meet United States Government eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Nice to have
- IAM Level II certification, such as CAP, CASP, CISM, or CISSP.
- Knowledge of Security Control Assessments, NIST SP 800-53, JSIG, information security system maintenance, and inventory processes.
- Experience developing vulnerability waivers and exceptions, coordinating with organizational leadership, and working in a corporate environment.
