Digital PR Specialist

Location: Remote within the United States; associated location: Chicago

Salary: $65,000–$73,500 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Generate creative content ideas and pitch them to journalists and bloggers.
• Build media lists for clients across multiple industries and business models.
• Collaborate with the content marketing team to create proprietary, data-driven research and stories.
• Pitch client content to news media to generate coverage and visibility.
• Monitor news and proactively identify new story opportunities.
• Research and validate sources while developing relationships with writers, reporters, and bloggers.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in an agency or comparable PR environment working with major U.S. brands.
• Experience running surveys and turning data into stories for national media pitches.
• Strong knowledge of public relations, data-driven content, email outreach, and media relations.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Excellent writing, editing, grammar, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.

Nice to have

• Basic to intermediate SEO knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Docs tools.
• Experience with media relations platforms such as Muck Rack or Cision.
