Senior Spacecraft Mission Operations Engineer (Spacecraft)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

• Develop, coordinate, execute, and lead Varda's on-orbit missions.
• Own the operations development cycle for mission-unique payloads, from mission profiles through execution.
• Collaborate across engineering and operational teams to improve mission operations and ensure mission success.
• Build webtools to automate operations and reduce operational burden.
• Scale operational capabilities to support a growing flight cadence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably aerospace, electrical, or computer science.
• 5+ years of experience in real-time operations for complex, high-consequence operations.
• 3+ years of experience developing software tools with Python, JavaScript, and/or HTML.
• Familiarity with spacecraft avionics, GNC, software, and thermal design practices.
• Experience with spacecraft systems and, preferably, in-orbit spacecraft operations or operator leadership.
• U.S. person status and authorization to work in the United States are required due to ITAR-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with Git and Atlassian products.
• Familiarity with ground station networks.
