Senior Software Engineer, OIG (IAM)

Location: San Francisco, California; the employee must be on US soil, including the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or US outlying areas.

Salary: $165,000–$227,000 annual base salary for candidates in California outside the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; $147,000–$202,000 annual base salary for another listed location range. Equity, bonus, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Own feature areas end to end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Design, build, and ship production-ready features across the OIG access governance system.
• Improve correctness, reliability, performance, and scalability for enterprise software.
• Deliver bug fixes and resolve customer-reported issues.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and uphold engineering quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering on development and deployment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with independent ownership of complex production features.
• Experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent JVM/cloud-native languages.
• Experience designing systems for multi-tenancy, high availability, audit logging, RBAC/ABAC, and enterprise security.
• Must be physically on US soil; there is no citizenship requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience building identity, access management, or governance products.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, finite state machines, or BPM-style approval systems.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with modern observability tooling.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
