Associate - Fire Protection Consultant

Location: Concord, California, United States; office-based position

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Provide fire protection engineering services, including life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering.
• Develop plans, specifications, inspection reports, and other technical documentation.
• Conduct building code, egress, fire detection, alarm, smoke control, sprinkler, and water supply reviews.
• Perform hydraulic and other engineering calculations for building areas, egress, sprinkler water supplies, and smoke control equipment.
• Assist with field investigations, inspections, design problem resolution, and coordination of project design elements.
• Communicate progress and technical information to project managers, project leaders, clients, and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, or a related engineering field.
• 0–3 years of experience; recent graduates and early-career engineers are welcome.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reports, presentations, correspondence, and responses to clients and the public.
• Problem-solving, reasoning, and self-starter skills.
• Interest in advancing fire protection engineering and safety practices.
