Strategic Advisor (Academic Publishing)

What you will do

• Advise journal editors and institutional leaders on Scopus and Web of Science indexing readiness, quality improvement, and long-term sustainability.
• Coach editorial teams on publishing best practices, research integrity, ethics, and AI-related challenges in scholarly publishing.
• Prepare performance reports, impact analyses, and strategic recommendations.
• Deliver training sessions, workshops, and presentations for editorial teams and institutions.
• Represent Digital Commons at editorial board meetings, conferences, and industry events.
• Collaborate with product, sales, and consulting teams on client needs, service development, and best-practice materials.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field and at least five years of research experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Experience in academic publishing, scholarly communications, or journal management.
• Knowledge of Scopus, Web of Science, research integrity, and publishing ethics.
• Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Editorial Manager or a similar manuscript submission system.
