TL;DR
Resource Operator (Manufacturing): Operating and controlling an animal nutrition manufacturing process from raw-material receiving through packaging, drying, warehousing, and finished-goods loading with an accent on production safety, feed-quality compliance, and equipment operation. Focus on monitoring fermentation and mixing processes, setting up and controlling dryer parameters, maintaining HACCP and GMP requirements, and coordinating production activities during the assigned shift.

Location: Mason City, Iowa, United States; onsite, 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.

Hourly wage: $30.41 plus a $1.50 shift premium.

What you will do

  • Lead and oversee production activities during the assigned shift, coordinating workflow and assuming supervisory responsibilities when the Operations Supervisor is absent.
  • Operate and monitor mixing, fermentation, packaging, warehousing, receiving, shipping, and finished-product loading processes.
  • Prepare and operate the dryer by adjusting the nip gap, steam valves, liquid feed setpoint, drum speed, and alarm systems.
  • Complete production records, sampling, raw-material and finished-goods documentation, and inventory-related activities.
  • Perform operator-driven maintenance, sanitation, minor maintenance, and assist with major maintenance activities.
  • Maintain feed safety, GMP, HACCP, SOP, housekeeping, and facility safety requirements, including PPE use.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to operate industrial feed production equipment and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, computer literacy, organization, documentation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift bags and materials weighing up to 50–55 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing facility with dust, noise, varying temperatures, raw-material odors, machinery, and repetitive tasks.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, industrial technology, animal science, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, feed production, fermentation, mixing, bulk-material handling, or warehouse equipment operation.
  • Forklift certification or previous forklift experience.
