Mechanical Engineering Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Primarily onsite in Caesarea, Israel

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Mechanical Engineers through goal setting, performance management, and career development.
• Plan and direct mechanical engineering activities across sustaining engineering, platform improvements, and new product development.
• Provide technical leadership for mechanical and electromechanical medical devices from concept and feasibility through verification, design transfer, and production readiness.
• Ensure engineering documentation and activities comply with Design Control, Quality System requirements, internal procedures, and medical device regulations.
• Lead technical investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and product improvements.
• Coordinate work across Systems, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Service, Program Management, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing a mechanical development team within an R&D organization, including performance management, employee development, prioritization, and delivery.
• Strong experience developing mechanical and electromechanical products, mechanisms, precision assemblies, and complex systems.
• Experience across new product development, design transfer, sustaining engineering, and released-product support.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.

Nice to have

• People-management experience in the medical device industry or a global organization.
• Experience with Design Control, verification and validation, risk management, and regulated product development.
• Experience with robotic systems, surgical platforms, capital equipment, or complex electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, PLM systems, and Engineering Change Management.
• Experience working with distributed teams, external suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
