Principal Analyst (Semiconductor Markets)

Location: Penang office in Georgetown, Malaysia; in-person work required three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times.

What you will do

• Lead semiconductor market analysis and establish a commercially relevant research agenda.
• Conduct primary and secondary research across semiconductor components and applications.
• Build detailed quantitative and qualitative reports, written insights, and press materials on current and future market developments.
• Maintain the Application Market Forecast Tool and comprehensive semiconductor market models, datasets, revenue estimates, and shipment forecasts.
• Collaborate with analysts and equipment research teams to align assumptions, validate forecasts, and respond to client questions about methodologies and data.
• Travel internationally for industry events, client meetings, customer briefings, market discussions, and business development activities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience or experience as a recognized semiconductor market analyst.
• Leading knowledge of the semiconductor components and applications ecosystem.
• Ability to write structured, concise, detailed, and opinionated market reports supported by data.
• Proven thought leadership, public speaking, customer briefing, and client call experience.
• Strong Excel, database, and pivot table expertise, with advanced ability to synthesize insight from multiple sources.
• Ability to prioritize competing work, meet deadlines, delegate effectively, and travel regularly worldwide.

• Established network of senior semiconductor industry contacts.
• Experience informing market narratives for semiconductor equipment and manufacturing companies, technology providers, government agencies, industry associations, or financial organizations.
