Head of Operations (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; at least 3 days per week in the local office. Candidates must be based in Malaysia or able to work from the advertised location.

hirify.global builds technology products used by millions of users across Southeast Asia. Doit is a regulated investment platform in Malaysia applying to the Securities Commission for registration as a Recognized Market Operator running an e-Services Platform.

What you will do

• Own investor onboarding, account opening, customer due diligence, and partner account setup.
• Maintain accurate investor, transaction, and holdings records.
• Run daily reconciliation with licensed partners, investigate breaks, track unresolved issues, and escalate exceptions.
• Manage settlement operations, client asset and record safeguarding, and operational contingency arrangements.
• Handle investor complaints, maintain complete case records, and keep investors informed throughout reviews.
• Build the operations team, processes, tooling, and automation required to scale new products and partnerships.

Requirements

• Degree or professional qualification from an institution recognised by the government of Malaysia.
• 10+ years of financial services operations experience, including 5+ years in securities, unit trust, fund administration, or payments operations at a licensed or regulated entity.
• At least 3 years of experience running an operations function or team, with demonstrable ownership of daily reconciliation between two sets of records.
• Working knowledge of the Bursa Malaysia trade and settlement cycle and CDS account operations, or unit trust transaction processing, cut-off times, and unit pricing.
• Understanding of client asset segregation, nominee arrangements, the Securities Commission's AML/CFT Guidelines, and AMLA 2001 as they apply to investor onboarding.
• Must be based in Malaysia and able to meet the Securities Commission's fit and proper criteria, including capability to act as Doit's alternative Responsible Person.

Nice to have

• Experience launching a digital brokerage or wealth platform and operating it through its first few years.
• Familiarity with the Securities Commission's Guidelines on Recognized Markets and experience handling supervisory reviews.
