Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI Research)

Annual salary: $115,000–$230,000

What you will do

• Design, implement, deploy, and operate production machine learning models and features for predictive analytics, automation, and decision support.
• Manage the full ML lifecycle, including data ingestion, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Build scalable batch and real-time ML pipelines and optimize model-serving systems for speed, reliability, and cost.
• Develop shared ML frameworks, tooling, feature-store integrations, model registries, and deployment infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and roadmap development.
• Maintain reliable and compliant AI systems through monitoring, alerting, security, privacy, model governance, explainability, and incident response.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems in production.
• Strong Python and/or Java skills with production-grade software engineering practices.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn and the full ML lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM applications, including prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, model evaluation, and production integration.
• Familiarity with distributed data systems and modern ML infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM fine-tuning, adaptation, safety, guardrails, real-time serving, feature stores, or low-latency systems.
• Knowledge of deep learning, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, Spark, Snowflake, Airflow, or DBT.
• Experience with model explainability, fairness, and governance in regulated industries.
