Digital Content Executive Producer

What you will do

• Update the local website and curate original, trending, exclusive, and breaking news content.
• Write engaging headlines and package stories to increase page views, time on site, and repeat visitation.
• Build data-driven homepage layouts using traffic trends, headline testing, metric tools, and audience interests.
• Research, interview, and write original news articles, including quick-hit local stories and enterprise reports.
• Produce short videos, select photos, and promote news content through social media and broadcast channels.
• Collaborate with newsroom staff and management to develop enterprise content and audience-growth opportunities.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in digital content and journalism.
• Strong research, interviewing, original writing, headline-writing, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style.
• Strong understanding of Google Analytics; experience with Chartbeat is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HTML, CSS, and Photoshop experience is a plus.
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and ability to work onsite in Ghent, West Virginia.
