Optical Transceiver Validation Engineer Intern - Master's Degree (Silicon Photonics)

What you will do

• Support bring-up, calibration, and characterization of electro-optic transceivers and photonic components.
• Set up automated test stations for high-speed photonic devices.
• Develop and implement calibration algorithms for integrated photonic communication ICs in multi-channel transceiver modules.
• Collect and analyze performance data, estimate manufacturing yield, and optimize production test coverage and test time.
• Test very high-speed serial communication links and optimize transceiver sub-components.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong fundamentals in at least two or three relevant areas, including optical components, communication theory, high-speed serial links, silicon photonics, or analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Programming experience with Python and C.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with test and measurement equipment such as OSA, DCA, VNA, and oscilloscopes.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Applicants may be subject to a U.S. export license review before employment because the role may involve access to export-controlled technology or software.
