Automotive Apprentice / General Service Technician (Automotive)

Location: 8250 E 121st Street South, Bixby, Oklahoma, United States. Onsite work in a climate-controlled automotive shop; the shop is closed every weekend.

Salary: USD 15–18 per hour, with shop and team performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Work alongside a certified Automotive Technician while learning diagnostic and mechanical repairs.
• Repair and service engines, steering and suspension systems, automotive HVAC systems, and other vehicle systems.
• Perform state inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and other routine maintenance.
• Complete clear and thorough multi-point vehicle inspections.
• Work with other technicians to solve technical problems, meet deadlines, and prepare safe and reliable vehicles for customers.
• Follow safety, cleanliness, organization, and service standards.

Requirements

• Strong motivation to build a career in mechanical service and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to lift or move more than 50 pounds occasionally, work in tight spaces, and use hand tools with dexterity.
• Ability to stand or walk for most of the workday and maintain a brisk pace in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to work with vehicles lifted overhead and efficiently use a computer.

Nice to have

• Enrollment in or recent graduation from an automotive program.
• Knowledge or experience repairing vehicles.
