Senior AI Platform Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Budapest, Szeged, Pécs, or Debrecen, Hungary. Remote working is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Build AI-powered automation for complex cloud engineering environments and software development lifecycle activities.
• Analyze large Git repositories to identify service boundaries, dependencies, and architecture patterns.
• Develop AI agents that interact with source code, Git platforms, CI/CD systems, cloud services, and engineering tools.
• Diagnose build and deployment failures using source code, configuration, and pipeline logs.
• Create RAG-based solutions for codebase and technical documentation search, and automate architecture documentation.
• Design controlled agentic workflows with validation, retries, confidence checks, human approval steps, and production-readiness.

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, cloud engineering, or cloud-native software engineering.
• Strong programming and automation skills, preferably with Python.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architectures.
• Good understanding of Git-based development workflows and CI/CD systems such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with REST APIs, SDKs, automation, and distributed cloud applications.
• Practical experience building or integrating Generative AI and LLM-based applications, including RAG, tool calling, AI agents, or agentic workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenStack, Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, or platform engineering practices.
• Experience with vector databases such as pgvector, Qdrant, Weaviate, or Milvus.
• Experience with LlamaIndex, developer productivity tooling, or internal developer platforms.
• Background in software architecture analysis, service decomposition, technical due diligence, or engineering handover projects.
• Experience operating software in security- or sovereignty-sensitive environments.
