Manufacturing Systems Engineer 2 (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support digital and AI-enabled manufacturing solutions that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making.
• Build integrations between manufacturing systems, equipment data sources, enterprise applications, and data platforms.
• Develop and optimize databases, data pipelines, APIs, reports, and scalable manufacturing data flows.
• Build and deploy AI agents, AI-powered applications, and intelligent workflows that operate across enterprise systems within defined guardrails.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, OT, and IT teams to translate requirements into digital solutions.
• Support testing, validation, deployment, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, automation, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in software development, application development, systems engineering, system integration, data engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server database design and development skills, including query optimization, views, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages, such as Python, C#, Java, or JavaScript, plus experience with applications, APIs, system integrations, and GitHub.
• Experience building and deploying enterprise AI agents, including multi-agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, tool calling, workflow execution, knowledge retrieval, reasoning systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, SDLC, testing, and deployment skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with manufacturing systems, industrial data platforms, operational technology, equipment connectivity, or industrial automation.
• Experience with Power BI, Databricks, Azure, cloud technologies, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, enterprise knowledge management, AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and diagnostic solutions.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing, medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, semiconductor, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
