TL;DR
Maintenance Electronic/Electrical Engineer (Broadcast): Maintaining and repairing electronic and electrical systems across broadcast infrastructure, including OB trucks, studios, and data centres, with an accent on preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and broadcast signal and power systems. Focus on supporting live-event readiness, troubleshooting SDI/IP/RF and fibre-optic systems, and coordinating 24/7 technical support for outside broadcasting.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role includes on-site and remote troubleshooting, travel, flexible hours, and 24/7 support rotations for outside broadcasting.

What you will do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on broadcast equipment and electrical systems, including video routers, audio consoles, UPS systems, and power distribution units.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electrical faults across OB trucks, studios, and data centres.
  • Support technical readiness for live events and participate in 24/7 outside-broadcast support rotations.
  • Maintain equipment documentation, wiring diagrams, maintenance logs, and spare-parts inventory.
  • Assist with installing, configuring, and testing new broadcast systems and electrical upgrades.
  • Collaborate with broadcast engineering, operations, and IT teams while supporting electrical health and safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in electrical, electronic, or broadcast engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a broadcast or media technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, signal flow, power systems, and low-voltage installations.
  • Familiarity with broadcast systems such as SDI, IP, RF, fibre optics, and signal distribution.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during live-event coverage.

Nice to have

  • Experience maintaining OB trucks and broadcast-grade power systems.
  • Electrical Technician License, AVIXA CTS, SMPTE, or manufacturer certifications such as EVS, Grass Valley, or Sony.
  • OSHA or health and safety certifications.
