Actuary (FSA) - Seattle Health

Location: Based in the hirify.global office in Seattle, Washington; remote candidates anywhere in the United States will be considered. US work authorization is required, and immigration sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $103,500–$242,650 annually, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and other factors. Eligible employees may also receive a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze healthcare data and apply advanced actuarial techniques.
• Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Manage actuarial projects through completion within budget.
• Supervise actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries on technical project work.
• Develop client relationship management skills and contribute to business development opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
• FSA designation.
• Seven to ten years of healthcare actuarial experience.
• Proficiency with Excel and some knowledge of SAS, SQL, or R.
• Strong understanding of the US healthcare system and ability to present technical concepts clearly.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Medicaid rate-setting, reserving and statutory financials, ACA pricing or rate filing, Medicare Advantage bid development, or value-based provider contracting.
• Knowledge of Medicare Advantage revenue mechanisms, including risk scores and star ratings.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and experience working in client-focused consulting environments.
